About me

About me

My name is Emese Lengyel, and I am a psychology-oriented astrological consultant, tale therapist, and therapy dog handler.

In the beginning, I worked exclusively with children. For a short period, I taught at an elementary school, then spent five years in a children’s home as a developmental educator, which allowed me to gain extensive experience and deep insight into the psyche of children. I witnessed the difference between the development of a child growing up in a family environment and that of a child who does not have the privilege of being surrounded by a safe, warm, and supportive home. The years spent in the children’s home made me realize how crucial emotional education is for children, and how significant the earliest stages of life are—when our foundational relational patterns are formed, and when the presence or absence of a nurturing parental relationship profoundly shapes us.

Alongside this, I began my own journey of self-discovery, which became a turning point in my life and fundamentally changed the way I perceive myself and the world. The years of working with my own emotions and inner world guided me toward this path, motivating me to help others along their own journeys with the best knowledge and support I can offer. This is how I found my way to tale therapy and astrology. Both approaches work with symbols, images, and archetypes, offering an external perspective that supports the process of self-understanding—helping us better comprehend our inner world, our blocks, our difficulties, while also allowing us to reconnect with our resources and become aware of our abilities and strengths.

For this reason, in the past year I have extended my work not only to children but also to adults. I believe that the difference between the two is not as great as it might seem at first, since in any self-awareness process it is inevitable that we engage with and reconnect to our inner child.

About me

The Best (Work) Partner

Gordon, the Therapy Dog

About me

At the heart of my animal-assisted sessions is Gordon, the dog with whom fate brought me together when he was just a puppy. His first year was filled with play and learning—something we both enjoyed immensely. I taught him countless tricks, and back then, we had no idea how many children we would make smile with this shared experience.

Later, I came across a video of a developmental session that involved a therapy dog, and in that moment I knew—this was our path.

After lots of practice, we passed our exam in 2014, and since then we’ve been working weekly, to the children’s delight—and of course, to ours as well. In our free time we spend a lot of time in the forest, where Gordon feels completely at home. It is pure joy to watch him find something wonderful in every season: in spring he rolls in the fresh grass and tries to catch raindrops, in summer he never gets tired of swimming after his ball, in autumn he loves jumping in the fallen leaves, and in winter he can’t resist rolling in freshly fallen snow. Despite his high energy, Gordon is an extremely calm and patient dog. They say dogs are similar to their owners—and in this, we truly are alike.

Training and Courses

My Studies

Psychology-Oriented Astrological Consultant

Artemisz School of Astrology, 2019–2024

Over the past ten years, I have placed great emphasis on self-knowledge—understanding myself, my personality, my actions, and the transgenerational patterns closely tied to them. Through the Artemisz Astrology School, I received a wonderful tool and deep knowledge that continues to fascinate me to this day. The symbolic system of astrology provides a precise personality map—a key to understanding ourselves. Getting to know my own emotional patterns more deeply helped me discover my path and my vocation.

Metamorphoses Tale Therapist

Metamorphoses Therapeutic Storytelling Training, 2020–2021

As I experienced firsthand the incredible power of inner images, I turned to working with tales—since listening to a story naturally evokes inner imagery that has an impact on us. The vast amount of knowledge and the Metamorphoses Storytelling Therapy method developed by Ildikó Boldizsár helped me understand how tales, stories, and myths can be used consciously—whether for self-awareness or as support during emotional blocks, difficulties, or conflicts. During the training, I not only learned the theory but also experienced the method in practice, which strengthened my belief in the healing potential of stories.

Forest Immersion Program Leader

Mert Marketing Kft., 2021

I have personally experienced the positive effects of connecting with nature and “bathing” in the forest, and many scientific studies support this as well. During the Forest Immersion training, we reviewed the methodology and I learned how to design a forest immersion walk. The essence of forest immersion is inner focus, arriving in the here and now, and slowing down.

LivingNature Tale-Nature Program

Farkaskő Noszvaj Cave Art Colony Association, 2019

In today’s digitally overloaded world, I felt it was essential to emphasize our connection with nature. During this training, I learned various nature-art activities that foster attentiveness toward the natural world while also influencing our emotional landscape in harmony with storytelling. I gained excellent tools to support nature connection.

Animal-Assisted Therapy Dog Handler

Hajdúsági Guide Dog and Assistance Dog Foundation, 2014

After long preparation and training, Gordon and I passed our exam at the Reménysugár Children’s Home in Nagymacs. We have maintained a close partnership with the HVSK Foundation ever since and regularly take part in demonstrations in kindergartens and schools.

Special Education Mentor Teacher

Szent Gergely Folk College, 2014–2015

This advanced pedagogical training helped me expand my knowledge about children with special educational needs, learning difficulties, and psychological developmental challenges. I combined this with animal-assisted therapy, exploring how therapeutic dog activities can support children’s development.

Movement and Skill Development with a Therapy Dog for Children Aged 3–16

Introduction to the Theory and Practice of Dog-Assisted Programs, 2014

Fate brought Gordon into my life in 2011. When I decided to pursue dog-assisted therapy, I sought opportunities to deepen my knowledge in this field. In this course, I learned a great deal about the theory and practice of animal-assisted therapy, experienced dog-assisted activities myself, and discovered the developmental possibilities within them.

Primary School Teacher

Kölcsey Ferenc Teacher Training College

At the college, I gained broad knowledge, with psychology and developmental psychology being my favorite subjects. I was always particularly interested in alternative pedagogical approaches. During my teaching career, we applied the Jena Plan method, and I often incorporated elements from Waldorf pedagogy as well. The college placed great emphasis on practical training, so from the first year onward we had numerous teaching practices, each preceded by precise lesson planning. I still rely heavily on this experience when planning and preparing my sessions today.
